2000 GUINEAS 1912

The 104th winner of the 2000 Guineas, held on Wednesday 1st May 1912 over the Rowley Mile, was Sweeper II (6/1), a chestnut colt by Broomstick out of Ravelloz, owned by Mr Herman B Duryea. The winner won by a length in 1 minute 38.4 secs, with half a length back to the third. A field of 14 runners contested the race which was worth £5,050 (Equivalent to £545,400 in 2017)
